It continues in height to a rounded tower, which was, in the 1930's, a speakeasy. It's early jeweler tenants could ride up to their floors in a car elevator for security. It's still standing at the southwest corner of Wabash & Wacker Drive. World famous architect Helmut Jahn had offices on the lower levels and in the dome tower space, the last time I was there. |
