About Ministructures…
Welcome to the ministructures website. Have a look at my collection of miniature souvenir buildings, check data, comment on my lousy spelling, add valuable content, it is all do-able with the easy to use interface of the site. JR Graphix have designed this website for the ultimate purpose of selling my collection of souvenir buildings.
Help me identify some of the unknown buildings in the collections. I am hardly an expert on souvenir buildings, so your input will be greatly appreciated. I will be adding information onto this site as I get new facts and also as I have time to work on it, it is definitely a work in progress, so keep checking in for updates. I hope that this website could be the start of a good database for more serious collectors than myself. Please feel free to comment or write me about anything regarding this website. I would like to sell these buildings, offers for the collections as a single lot are welcome. Just drop me a line.
Special thanks go to JR Graphix (www.jrgraphix.net) , I think they have done an amazing job in showing a collection in a clear and rational way.
By the way...
I decided not to use terms like "quot;miniature buildings"quot; even though my site is called ministructures it's really souvenir building that are the main focus. When was the first souvenir building made? Did the ancient Egyptians make souvenir building, what about the Sumerians, did they produce souvenir building and if so are there any souvenir building from their cultures still in existence. Are there any songs about souvenir building? The only movie about souvenir building or that at least uses souvenir building as part of the plot is "quot; The Lavender Hill Mob"quot;. Alfred Hichkock's movies feature many famous buildings and monuments but sadly he never employed souvenir buildings in his plots. Souvenir buildings are also used in one episode of the Simpsons. I would like to know if there are any souvenir building cake molds out there? Pottery Barn sells a gothic looking cake mold but it is not specifically a souvenir building. I think that chocolate molds would also be a great idea for souvenir buildings or even souvenir buildings chocolates or candies. Imagine going to New York City and buying souvenir building chocolates for your friends. Even if they didn't like souvenir buildings, they could easily dispose of them by eating their souvenir building chocolates. The next time you came over they would be saved the embarrassing experience of forgetting to display your souvenir building in their home, as they would have already finished eating their souvenir building chocolates. Gertrude Stein wrote a famous poem "quot;a rose is a rose is a rose"quot; why not modernize this poem into "quot;a souvenir building is a souvenir building is a souvenir building"quot; or the classic bus song "quot;a hundred bottles of beer on the wall"quot; would be much catchier using the lyrics "quot;a hundred souvenir buildings on the wall, a hundred souvenir buildings on the wall, you take one souvenir building down, you pass that souvenir building around, and now you have ninety-nine souvenir buildings on the wall. Dadaist poets would create poems by pulling arbitrary words out of a hat. Imagine what interesting work they would have done if the only word in the hat was souvenir buildings written hundreds of times. I think it would go something like this "quot;souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building souvenir building"quot; but perhaps that is stating the obvious.
